Saffron Spring – OCD Meets SAD

by Barbara Lies

I don’t know about you, but I NEED this quilt!!!  We are in the throes of another snow storm with record snowfall predicted.  Tonight we will be going into work and unsure when we will return home.  I feel worried about Jingle, but he can not come along to work with either of us.  So…sew, I am quite tired of Winter and the snow!  I could do with a good dose of saffron!  ; )  Isn’t this quilt AMAZING?!?!?!  I was unable to get a photograph without someone stepping in for a closer look at the quilt.  Her cutwork was a surprise!  I LOVE everything about this!  I hope you enjoy it too!

Winter Solstice

by Ricki Selva

I think tessellating designs are VERY interesting and intriguing…  This one is sort of mind bending to me because of how the design curves to form a sphere.  Hmmm?!  Enjoy it and happy Monday.  ; )

27.

That’s TWENTY SEVEN inches of SNOW!!!  You know what?!  That’s a LOT of snow!!!  Thankfully, it has stopped.

Take a look at two furry coated beasts not minding 27 inches of snow, not one bit!  ; )

This is Jingle’s girlfriend, Lucy.  Thanks Laura for sharing these photos!  ; )

I have been working on piecing the backing for Pastel Bubbles.  I trimmed the batting too.  But, between helping with snow removal, dog walking and laundry sewing has been derailed.

Be warm, safe and happy!

SNOWbound!!!

Take a look…

This was our road at 8:30 this morning

Over at the school...which is to the right, but barely visible!

Alright, I've had enough! Let's go INside!

SNOWbound BOM #2

Both Snowbound blocks sew far! ; )

Stay safe and warm…SEW!!!  We have over 18 inches so far and it’s continuing to come down…at a rate of TWO inches an hour!?

Let’s take another look

out that same front door…  This is the scene this morning!  And, it’s soon time to walk Jingle…?!

We just got a call from Momma Barb and Karen.  They’re sitting out on the veranda.  It’s 78 degrees!  A yacht just went by with people in bathing suits, waving. While they’re frolicking with mermaids we’re contending with snow demons!  Hmmmm.  I called them a not nice name!  ; )

I will do the Snowbound “embroidery” work tomorrow.  And, here’s a view out our front door.  Time for a glass of wine and a little blog hopping!  ; )

Are you ready?!

They’re calling for a Winter storm with significant accumulation (that stupid Punxsutawney Phil!!!).  Supposedly, the white stuff is to begin falling tomorrow afternoon.  So, if you haven’t already picked up your milk and bread…RUN!!!  The media hype makes me feel frenzied.  To counter that, I’ve decided to feel pleased about having such a GREAT weekend for staying home to sew!!!  : )  Absolutely guilt-free!  See, it’s just a matter of perspective.  Right…?!

I will quite happily and VERY appropriately work on my (due out tomorrow!!!) Bunny Hill Snowbound block for February!!!  I’ll work on basting Pastel Bubbles and piecing Vibrant Diamonds.  : )  Sounds like a weekend of white bliss if you ask me!!!  I also have another sock monkey prepped…

Meanwhile, Momma Barb and Karen really know how to plan!  They left Wednesday morning for a cruise!!!  They’re going to be basking in the sun, sewing and shopping while we’re shivering…

So, I have my crock pot filled with a hearty pasta sauce just waiting to be plugged in!  ; )  There’s also soup in the planning.  And, I do have milk and bread.

I’m looking forward to the weekend.  ; )  Being snowbound doesn’t sound so bad after all?!  May your weekend be cozy, safe and fun!

Finished?!

Yep.  I completed my Santa’s Blessings quilt this evening.  : )  So, either I am way behind or way ahead…?!  Seeing the glass as “half full”…I opt for the way ahead perspective!  I hope to take pix tomorrow, in the daylight, and post.

While the quilt batt for my Pastel Bubbles project is relaxing, I have returned to another old and on hold project, Kaffe Fassett’s Vibrant Diamonds.  During the week I got out the parts and pieces of this project.  I assembled the diamonds into rows, collected, stacked and labeled them.  This evening, I began machine piecing.  It’s kind of nice to have a ’simple’ go to project!

This weekend I plan to begin basting Pastel Bubbles, and working on the next Bunny Hill Snowbound block!?!?!?  ; )  I LOVE to sew!!!

Farm Truck – Retired

by Lynne Pillus

Vvvrrooom, vvrrroooomm!!!  : )

LOOK at her masterful use of color.  Individually (close-up) it appears disjointed, but step back and see the whole…amazing work!!!  Enjoy!

How skillful she was in making her selected batik fabrics truly work in this piece!  How do you spell artist?!
