I am beginning to assemble sewing supplies. I will be taking two classes next week while at the Houston Quilt Festival . Karen Kay Buckley’s “Heard It Through the Grapevine” and Kaffe Fassett’s Glorious Diamonds. I am soliciting fabric opinions, please. I can not decide which fabrics and color palette to take along for the class with Kaffe Fassett…?! I can’t take both!

Oh I am so jealous that you get to go to Houston and take classes!!!! I like the blues best, but I like the others too. Maybe mix them up a bit.
Thanks everyone for your opinions, thoughts and suggestions. I’ve made a decision and cut the fabrics in preparation for packing. What did I choose?! You’ll just have to wait to see… ; ) Don’t you love a surprise?
Blue has always been my favorite color. Although yellow is sunny and I like it too. Which do you like best?

Thank you so much for the kind comment you left on my entry to the Festival. I’m so overwhelmed by all the response and wonderful comments I have received; I was not prepared for this as I have never been present where the quilt has been exhibited, and am totally new to this whole blogging thing. I am happy (probably not the right word..) though that my quilt touches so many people, even if I made it as a way to deal with the whole thing myself. I have to add that I did ask my daughter’s permission to tell our story, and she was only happy I would do it. Some stories just need to be told. I will let her read all the amazing comments when the Festival is over; she will be so touched.

Pam—my vote is for the blues, but I do see a couple fabrics in the yellows that I think may work also. Have a great time! Can’t wait to hear all about it.

Oh the blues, but I think maybe add one of the yellows to the stash of blues just to have a highlight and a point of added interest.

I’m afraid I love both, yellows are a favourite but do you want a cool quilt or a warm one. That’s how I’d decide and also which colours are you most comfortable with. Have a fantastic time, you lucky thing you.
