The maker of this quilt adapted a pattern from Traditional Quiltworks – January 1995.  She used paper piecing, hand applique, hand quilting and corded curved piping.  I like quilts that incorporate both piecing AND applique!  I also happen to like quilts that aren’t “matchy-matchy.”  So, I especially appreciate how the centers of each block is not the same…not the same color nor the same fabrics!  And that the placement of these varied blocks is random.  It makes you look twice and generates interest in this quilt!  ; )  I hope you enjoy looking at this quilt too, maybe even twice…?!

Beautiful quilt, love the work in this.

  2. I love the combination of both piecing and appliqué in a quilt, too :).
