My Mother’s Quilt

Another Hawiian style quilt.  These are sort of amazing to me.  Two LARGE pieces of fabric.  One with a traced design.  Basted together.  Then the basted design appears as the top fabric is cut away.  The top fabric is hand appliqued to the fabric below thus creating the design.  This cutting away and stitching is done in small sections at a time so as to give the quilter greater control.  Enjoy!
