I have to start

somewhere…

First echo quilted gingerbread man

Second echo quilted gingerbread man

Third

And the fourth

Free motion quilted snow swirls...

Okay.  Now I can b-r-e-a-t-h-e!!!  It’s interesting trying to figure out how to see around your needle and presser foot…which direction to travel – up, down, right, left…how to effectively ‘puddle’ the quilt to allow for free motion quilting…ALL while trying to not quilt over your fingertips, have controlled hand speed and consistent foot pedal pressure…oh yeh, and BREATHE, BLINK and try to not stitch a giant thread nest!  ; )  I wonder just HOW many quilts Diane Gaudynski, Harriet Hargraves, Sue Nickels and Sharon Schamber have stitched…?!?!?!

While it’s not perfect, it doesn’t seem bad enough for me to un-quilt.  It does go much faster than hand quilting.  And, they say, practice makes perfect.  So, there will be more of this tomorrow evening!  ; )

Piecefully, Pam

  1. Your quilting looks great to me! I’m too big a chicken to even try that!

Pam–I love the swirls in the background of the snowman. Can’t wait to see it in person.
