Making it

our home.  We have actually been living here. together. 4 months now. Amazing!!!  : )

We are beginning to evolve this space, this place and meld it into our home.  We have begun with paint.  Exotic Sea.  Don’t you like the sound of that?!  And, imagine the c-o-l-o-r…

Since we now live along the coast, we wish to embrace all things Beach.  That should come as no surprise, right?  From plates to door knockers, magazines to bright colors and everything in betwixt!!!

From hum-drum Mesquite to Exotic Sea

The starfish door knocker has been waiting for this!

It’s FUN evolving our home.  ❤  And, it’s SO much better sharing it!!!

What comes next?

He was here.  Bring it.

Here!

Russell is visionary.  He looks at a project from the outside in.  He understands the natural resources first.  Then, after watching and listening, he develops a plan.  This will continue to be an interesting and evolutionary experience.

I have a sensation, this is not only going to change our home, but our lives.  It feels powerful, yet tempered with much love and understanding, depth and knowledge.  A life time.

Piecefully. At the Beach.

I hope 2012 has been fabulous for you thus far, and that it continues to be a wonderful year!  We are well and happy; Scott, me, Shelby and Jingle too.  : )

I tell Scott, “Today is the BEST day of my life!”, and I mean it.  Making this change and living life at the Beach has been better than I ever hoped or imagined!  We live our dream every day.

At the end of our morning walk I stoop down and whisper to Jingle, “Thank you for coming to the Beach with me this morning.”  Jingle had a major impact on us landing here!  It was because of him that we first vacationed here.  You can learn a lot from a dog…you just need to take the time to listen.  ; )  A dog also teaches you to live in the moment.  Life is good.  Really good.

We have met with the architect.  We are eagerly awaiting our next meeting!  He is a graduate of Taliesin.  We are interested in midcentury modern and industrial design.  It will be amazing to develop this space into a joined studio/office space.  Patience is a virtue!

studio space...!?

Meanwhile, we have been busy settling into our home and finding new rhythms and routines.  I have done a few small sewing projects.  Most of those have been gifts and I cannot share the pix here!  I have a desire to do some garment sewing for me.  I have been looking at retro patterns and would REALLY like to stitch up some cool little dresses and longish tunics…

Also, I am cross training at work.  My job is SO amazing, and I am ever so grateful to be able to work from home.  I must admit though, after eight hours a day on the computer, I am not inclined to blog nor surf the web.

With all of this in mind, I will be taking a break from blogging.  You may certainly email me if you’d like.  Know that we are well and seriously twinkle toe delighted kitchen dancing happy!!!  I hope you are too!  If not, work towards it!!!  It is SO worth the effort.  ❤

Merry Christmas to all!

We walked on the Beach this morning.  It was cold, but clear and sunny.  What a joy.  What a gift.

I am working today.  Still, it’s from home!  Which is at the Beach.  So no complaining.

Meanwhile, this is what our Christmas tree and living room looks like.

Scott has taken over the kitchen.  For our Christmas dinner tonight he made…Crab Imperial!!!

Last weekend we had our Christmas celebration at Momma Barb’s!!!  (did you see ALL those opened gifts under our tree?!?!?!)  It was MAGICAL!!!  There is NOTHING like the twinkle and excitement of a child.

Scott and I will exchange gifts on Tuesday.  Tomorrow we are headed to PA to meet with the architect to discuss having a studio/office space made, created, designed.  And, I have my Quilt Mama holiday bash to attend!  ; )

May your holiday be merry and magical!  Perhaps like us, you will celebrate more than once.  ; )  Blessings to each of you, now and in the coming New Year too!

Greetings from

DE!!!  : )  Scott’s last day of work was 11/11.  Settlement was 11/18.  We had MANY blessings to count this Thanksgiving.

The next phase of our plan will be a garage conversion.  The attached garage will become a joint studio/office space.  This process will be developed and refined with an architect and contractor.  We are in the process of talking between ourselves about must haves and dreams.  We have selected an architect, I think.  This is all in the very beginning stages and is subject to change!  Meanwhile, much of my sewing/quilting supplies are in storage.

That said, my focus has shifted for now.  I am living at the Beach and enjoying every single day!!!  I might not be sewing and posting about quilting regularly.  Don’t feel bad, I am going to the Beach EVERY day, and learning about my new environment and surroundings.  It is a wonderful and magical adventure!!!  Truly.  One I can now share with my BEST friend.

I don’t think my AWESOME MIL, Mamimi Barb, will mind so I will post some recent Holiday pix from our new abode.  : )  Thank you for your kindness, support and prayers ALL along the way and for sharing this journey with us!

Love, Pam

Time.

Surviving.

I have been living here for 3 months.  Without my soul mate.  With the cat and dog.  No car.  A bike.  No TV.

In the span of a week we experienced an earthquake, a hurricane and a tornado.  This is the first town first state.  We survived.  We are thankful, and most certainly, we count our blessings.  Daily.

I have been assigned to mandatory overtime for 3 months, since moving here.  It has been lifted.  Perhaps I will once again know the luxury of time…

This evening is the first, in more than 3 months, that I can just sit.  Relax.  Reflect.  Stitch.  Blog.  Sip a glass of wine.  While I should be running the vacuum cleaner and baking brownines.  Instead, I am appreciating the peace.

That said, we are not at a place where we can rest.  We have lowered the price of our home.  We are hopeful that it may sell.  This has been the worst Summer for the Real Estate market, according to our Realtor, who is a second generation Realtor.  Fingers crossed that it sells, many prayers and some + juju too.

It is daunting to think about living here by myself over the Winter.  I miss my partner!  Truly.

Were it not for babies, there would have been no quilting or sewing.  I finished a Star baby quilt for my Super-visor!  I am in the process of making receiving blanks, bibs and a sock monkey for my Boss.  All things take time…

May you enjoy your evening.  Whatever you may be doing.  I think of each of you fondly and often.  Take a few stitches when you get the chance.

Love ❤

What a difference a year makes…

I don’t even know where to begin.  Our lives are in a state of flux and we expect this for perhaps the next 2 years.  So, we are finding peace in chaos, and figuring out new routines.

I have moved to the Beach, along with Jingle and Shelby.  Scott is in another state and our home is on the market.  Once it sells, we ALL will be reunited – at our home at the Beach!!!  What an amazing day that will be…?!?!?!

Meanwhile, Scott and I see one another on weekends.  I work every other weekend, but we make do.  ; )

We only have one car.  It’s with Scott.  I bike or walk to wherever it may be that I must go.

At the Beach, there is no TV.

I have been working 6 days a week.  My employer has instituted mandatory overtime.  No complaints.  I am glad to have the work and be busy!  And, if not for my job we would not be transitioning to the Beach this early.

It was Bill the Roofer who was the catalyst for much of this change.  He had done some work at our home in the past and we had him come out for another small job.  He posed the question, “Don’t you have a house at the Beach?  Then what (insert expletive here) are you doing here?”  Well, it got Scott and I to thinking.  Within two weeks from that question we undertook some major changes and readied our home for sale.

I am still here.  I surf the web, but have little time to spare.  No comments.  No posts.  I have been watching, reading and keeping tabs as best I can.

Work + OT, doing 3 dog walks a day, and unpacking boxes/organizing our home at the Beach along with the daily business of life seems to leave little time for much else.

I have hemmed 10 curtains.  Lined the six crab curtains I had made for our living room, and I did make a little dress with the help of Barb when she visited in early July.  Recently, I have been working to finish a baby quilt for my supervisor.  I also have been able to get my first Roseville Album panel done.  Finally!  It has only taken me over a year.

Thank you all for your patience and support.  I am glad you dropped by.  ; )  Enjoy every day!  Take a few stitches when you get the chance.  ; )  Thinking of each of you always, I just may not say it!

Time to walk the dog…  ; )

Piecefully, Pam
